1. Always try clothes on before buying them
This may seem like a no-brainer, but many people take the risk of purchasing without trying because they are feeling desperate. It’s true that you should try clothes on, but you will feel a lot better about buying if you try them on with your size! Try out the clothes in stores and try them home to finalize your decision.
2. Do not shop in the heat of the day
This is so important that we often neglect it. Even if you think it’s great, don’t buy something because of your love for it. You may want to buy something, but don’t buy because you are in the heat of the day and cannot tolerate the heat (i.e. shopping when you go to work). The best time to shop is right after work or right before bed since both times offer less distractions and you will be more likely to get a good night’s sleep before making a decision in the morning.
3. Try on a larger size to see if that is your best size
Most people shop in a store, try on a good and find it really cute. Before you purchase, look into one or two sizes larger and smaller to be sure that it’s the right size! Then you are likely to be more confident when making the purchase.
4. Look for clothes that can be dressed up or down
One of the best things about clothes is the ability to wear them with many different outfits and accessories. This is especially true of jeans, which you can dress up with a shirt, belt, and shoes. It’s also great to buy clothes that are timeless so that they can be worn in years to come.
